Community of Peace Academy, Teacher Ms. Lor, High School, 9 hours.
Minnesota Museum of American Art, 2 Hours.
The key events that took place at CPA is painting their clay objects. They had two weeks for this project. The first week was sculpting their clay to an object they wanted but had to be standing. The second week, they had to paint the base or around the object using different colors and giving them texture. But they had to understand how to mix colors based on what the teacher instructions. While they came in class, the students are learning to mix color only using the primary colors with white and black and how to had parts to the clay depending on image they wanted. The students learned to mix and depending on the color they wanted they had to mix the primary colors, to explore, by eliminating the colors that doesn’t come out the color they wanted. I asked one of the students if I can take a picture of their finished project, they wanted something that they can use in the future for their pencils.
For Minnesota Museum of American Art I only had meetings in which what kind of things I was interested in or what I wanted to gain from this experience. I got to learn more about the museum and their goals and how we can help each others goals.
During this week, I had a few questions for CPA is How can students gain from there project? Can this apply to them using in the future?
This week I learned new ways to apply for my teachings in which is having a question in the beginning of the class or question for the students to think and share it among the rest and have an example because it helps the students on what to be expected and to have an idea that can inspire them to create their own
